Innovation Marketplace

Young minds see the world differently and imagine solutions that adults miss. At the Innovation Marketplace, middle and high school students showcase real innovations addressing environmental challenges, community needs, and emerging technologies—proving that brilliant ideas don’t wait for age or credentials.

Where Student Ideas Become Solutions, Dreams Become Reality

Young Minds, Brilliant Solutions

Imagine a marketplace where the innovators are teenagers. Where the problems being solved are real. Where the ideas could change the world. That’s the Innovation Marketplace at Lemonade with Ice. The Innovation Marketplace at the EmpowerHER Summit was a vibrant showcase of creativity, collaboration, and youth-driven ideas, featuring participation from students across schools in Houston. With nearly a dozen booths, students proudly presented their innovative projects spanning key areas such as environmental impact, community development, technology, and AI innovation. We refuse to wait for young people to graduate, go to college, and “mature” before their ideas matter. We believe that brilliant solutions to real problems come from the minds of young people who see the world differently, who aren’t bound by “that’s how we’ve always done it,” and who have the passion and courage to imagine better. At the Innovation Marketplace, middle school and high school students don’t just present projects for a grade—they showcase innovations that could genuinely make a difference. From sustainable environmental solutions addressing climate change to technology platforms solving community challenges, from AI applications improving lives to entrepreneurial ventures creating opportunity, our students are thinking big and building boldly. This isn’t a simulated exercise; these are real ideas from real young people who believe they can solve real problems. When we celebrate their work and invest in their ideas, we send a powerful message: Your innovation matters. Your vision is valuable. The future needs what you’re creating.

From Booth to Impact: Student Leadership in Action

What makes the Innovation Marketplace truly transformative is that students aren’t just presenting—they’re leading, teaching, and inspiring. Each booth becomes a teaching moment, a network-building opportunity, and a confidence-building experience. Young innovators learn to articulate their vision, defend their approach, answer challenging questions, and receive feedback with grace and growth mindset. They interact with peers from different schools, mentors from industry, and community leaders who recognize the value in what they’re creating. They discover that their ideas can create real impact—that a thoughtful solution to an environmental problem has genuine merit, that a technology addressing a community need could actually be developed, that their thinking has value beyond the classroom. The Innovation Marketplace also democratizes innovation—it says that brilliant ideas don’t only come from wealthy schools or well-connected families, but from any student with curiosity, determination, and support. Students who might never have considered themselves “innovators” or “entrepreneurs” leave the marketplace seeing themselves differently, understanding their potential, and equipped with the confidence and connections to pursue their ideas further. Peers who watch the marketplace are inspired to think bigger about their own projects. Younger students see what’s possible and start dreaming their own dreams. The ripple effect of one marketplace event extends far beyond a single day.

Investing in Ideas, Investing in Innovators—Awards for Bold Visions

Here’s what sets the Innovation Marketplace apart: Lemonade with Ice doesn’t just celebrate student ideas—we invest in them. In 2026, we’re offered $2,500 in awards and recognition for the most innovative, impactful, and inspiring student projects. This isn’t token recognition; this is real investment in real student innovators. Whether a student wins funding to develop their environmental solution, to scale their community project, to create a prototype of their technology, or to launch their entrepreneurial venture, this investment says: We believe in you. We believe your idea has merit. We’re investing in your future. For many of our students—girls from underserved communities, first-generation college-bound students, young people who’ve never had an adult invest in their ideas before—this recognition and funding can be transformative. It might fund the materials to build a prototype. It might provide seed capital for a student business. It might give a young innovator the resources and confidence to pursue STEM or entrepreneurship in college. But beyond the money itself, it builds self-belief. It proves that when you have a good idea and the courage to share it, people will notice. People will support you. People will invest in your vision. Your support of the Innovation Marketplace means investing in the next generation of environmental leaders tackling climate change, technology innovators solving community problems, AI creators building the future, entrepreneurs creating jobs, and changemakers addressing injustice. You’re telling young people that innovation isn’t reserved for adults with credentials and connections—it’s for anyone bold enough to dream and persistent enough to build. You’re creating a pipeline of young leaders who will transform Houston and the world. We shine so bright when our ideas are celebrated, when our innovations are supported, and when we know that our vision has the power to create real, lasting change.
