Entrepreneurship

Every great business starts with a dream and someone brave enough to pursue it. We believe every young person—especially girls from underserved communities—deserves the chance to become an entrepreneur, not just an employee, with the skills, mentorship, and real-world experience to turn ideas into thriving ventures.

From Dreams to Ventures—Building the Next Generation of Business Leaders

Turning Ideas Into Action

Every great company starts with a dream, a question, an idea that someone had the courage to pursue. At Lemonade with Ice, we believe that every young person—especially girls from underserved communities—deserves the chance to become an entrepreneur. In partnership with The Village School’s Entrepreneurship Diploma program, we offer business workshops, networking, mentorship, and real-world experiences. We don’t just teach about entrepreneurship in theory; we guide students through the entire journey of bringing an idea to life. From brainstorming and validating concepts to creating comprehensive business plans and launching actual ventures, we equip young minds with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to become job creators, not just job seekers. Our workshops break down the intimidating walls around entrepreneurship, showing students that starting a business isn’t reserved for the wealthy or well-connected—it’s for anyone with a dream, determination, and the right support system. When a young girl realizes she has the power to create something from nothing, to solve problems in her community, and to build a future on her own terms, she doesn’t just gain a business skill—she gains unlimited possibility.

Real Mentorship, Real Ventures, Real Success

The gap between learning entrepreneurship and actually doing entrepreneurship is where most young people get stuck. That’s why we’ve designed our programs differently. Students learn to develop ideas, create plans, and launch mini-ventures — skills that prepare them for future success as entrepreneurs and leaders. Through meaningful mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, young people see firsthand what it takes to build a business, overcome challenges, and celebrate wins. Our networking opportunities connect students with professionals who believe in their potential and are willing to invest time in their growth. Most importantly, by launching real mini-ventures, students move from theory to practice—they test their ideas, gather feedback, iterate, and discover what works. This hands-on experience builds resilience, critical thinking, and the confidence that comes from doing something you didn’t think was possible. We celebrate every success, no matter how small, because each one proves to a young person that they are capable of creating their own future. These early victories become the foundation for bigger dreams—a college business degree, a startup, a nonprofit, or a career as a change-maker in their industry.

Breaking Barriers, Building Wealth, Creating Legacy

Entrepreneurship is more than a career path—it’s a pathway to economic empowerment and lasting change. For girls who’ve grown up seeing limited representation in business leadership, LwI provides something transformative: proof that they belong in the boardroom. We remove the barriers that typically keep young people from pursuing entrepreneurship—lack of mentorship, fear of failure, limited networks, and insufficient capital for their first ventures. In their place, we provide comprehensive support, celebrated failure as learning, authentic relationships with entrepreneurs who look like them and believe in them, and the resources to launch real businesses. When a young woman successfully runs her first venture—no matter how small—she develops a mindset shift. She’s no longer waiting for someone to hire her; she’s creating opportunities for herself and others. She’s not asking permission; she’s taking action. She’s not dreaming of a future; she’s building it. Your support of LwI’s Entrepreneurship programs means investing in the next generation of female business leaders, innovators, and wealth creators who will transform Houston and beyond—proving that where there’s a girl with a dream and a community that believes in her, there’s limitless potential.
