Leadership, Speech & Debate
Finding your voice isn’t about being the loudest—it’s about knowing you have something valuable to say. We build confident communicators and courageous leaders who speak up, stand out, and inspire change in their communities.
Finding Your Voice, Building Your Future, Changing Your World
Silence Ends Where Voice Begins
Too many brilliant girls grow up believing their voices don’t matter. They sit quietly in classrooms, hold back their ideas in meetings, and convince themselves that speaking up isn’t for people like them. At Lemonade with Ice, we’re here to change that narrative completely. Through the EmpowerHer Summit (held annually in Houston at The Cannon West Houston), youth gain public speaking skills, leadership training, financial literacy, and networking opportunities with accomplished women in the Houston community. We believe that every girl deserves a platform to speak, be heard, and lead. Our leadership and speech & debate programs aren’t just about winning competitions or perfect presentations—they’re about discovering the power within yourself. When a young girl learns to articulate her ideas, defend her position with confidence, and captivate an audience with her words, she’s not just developing a skill. She’s reclaiming her right to be heard. She’s stepping into her power. We proudly sponsor awards like the Future Voices Awards at The Village School’s Speech & Debate Banquet, celebrating young women who find the courage to speak and the wisdom to lead. Every young person we support learns that their voice isn’t just important—it’s essential, it’s powerful, and the world needs to hear it.
Leaders Are Made, Not Born
Leadership isn’t an innate quality reserved for the naturally charismatic or the privileged few. It’s a skill that can be learned, practiced, and mastered by anyone willing to step forward. We create platforms for Houston youth to lead, speak, and serve — building confidence and community impact. Through our comprehensive programs, young people don’t just learn the mechanics of public speaking or debate; they discover who they are as leaders. They learn to listen deeply, think critically, communicate persuasively, and inspire others to action. Our mentorship connects students with accomplished women leaders who share their stories—women who’ve faced their own doubts, overcame obstacles, and built successful careers on the foundation of self-belief and strong communication. These role models prove that girls from all backgrounds can lead, innovate, and change the world. When students participate in our speech & debate initiatives, they’re not competing against their peers—they’re challenging themselves to grow, learning from each other, and building a community of confident, eloquent young leaders. Financial literacy training rounds out the experience, because true leadership includes understanding money, managing resources, and building wealth—skills that have historically been withheld from girls but are absolutely essential for independence and impact.
From the Stage to the Boardroom: Your Voice, Your Leadership, Your Legacy
Imagine a Houston where every girl—regardless of her zip code, background, or circumstances—knows that she has valuable things to say and the confidence to say them. Imagine schools and communities led by women who learned early that their voices matter and their leadership is needed. That’s the future we’re building at Lemonade with Ice. Every girl who steps onto a debate stage, who presents her ideas to an audience, who networks with accomplished women leaders, and who discovers her voice is one step closer to becoming the CEO, judge, senator, or nonprofit founder our world desperately needs. Your support of our Leadership, Speech & Debate programs means investing in girls who will refuse to be silenced, who will advocate for themselves and others, and who will lead with courage and conviction. You’re building a generation of young women who understand that leadership isn’t about perfection—it’s about purpose. It’s about using your voice not just for yourself, but for your community. It’s about standing up, speaking out, and creating change. When a girl finds her voice through speech and debate, she doesn’t just gain confidence in the moment—she gains the foundation for a lifetime of leadership, impact, and unstoppable possibility. We shine so bright when we’re heard, when we’re celebrated, and when we know that our voice has the power to change the world.
