Bridging Dreams with Education: A Visit to Mulsi, Pune
We had the incredible opportunity to visit several villages in the Mulsi area of Pune District to meet young girls whose education is being supported by Lemonade with Ice. This visit was deeply moving, as we saw firsthand the difference our collective efforts are making in the lives of these girls.
Through our partnership with Nari Samata Manch, a grassroots organization committed to the upliftment of women and girls in rural Maharashtra, we’ve been able to reach some of the most underserved communities in the region. These young girls come from families struggling to make ends meet. Without external support, school is often a distant dream for them.
But financial hardship is only one part of the story. These girls face a range of challenges that many of us take for granted. Long and unsafe distances to the nearest school, lack of public transportation, insufficient funds for travel or meals, and the inability to afford basic school supplies are daily hurdles. In some cases, girls drop out not because they don’t want to study, but because it’s simply not feasible for their families to support the effort.
Despite these challenges, the girls we met were full of spirit, resilience, and dreams. It was incredibly inspiring to hear their stories—each one unique, yet united by a shared determination to learn and grow.
Some of the girls are now proudly completing their school education—an extraordinary accomplishment for them and their families. Others are taking their first steps into the world of technology through computer classes provided in partnership with local training centers. For many, this is the first time they’ve interacted with a computer, opening up a world of opportunities that was previously unimaginable.
To witness the pride in their eyes, the joy of learning, and the hope for a better future was humbling. These are not just educational milestones—they are powerful signs of progress, confidence, and transformation. Each classroom they step into is a step toward independence. Every exam they pass brings them closer to a future where they can break the cycle of poverty and lead empowered lives.
We left these villages with a renewed sense of purpose and an even deeper commitment to our mission. At Lemonade with Ice, we believe that every girl—regardless of where she’s born or what she can afford—deserves the chance to learn, dream, and thrive.
We’re grateful to Nari Samata Manch for their continued collaboration and to all our supporters whose generosity makes this work possible. Together, we are not just changing lives—we are shaping futures
